"One Happy Island!!" The Island Music, duty-free shopping, diamonds, restaurants, casinos, diamonds, marketplaces, theatres nightclubs..did I mention diamonds?? And we aren't even out of the main street of downtown Oranjestad yet! This street is opposite the harbour and a cruise ship seems to be constantly docked there. The buildings are ornate and lavish and wildly coloured! It kind of looks like Disneyland. There is a shopping mall underneath the hotel that has it's own river cave. A boat will come in and pick you up and take you wherever you need to go around the island. Once you leave the main street and head north, a beach appears every few minutes lining the complete east coast with beautiful blue still waters and hotels. The western side of the island is barren and the seas are very rough. It's an amazing contrast between the 2 sides. This is a fun city!
