The Médanos (Dunes) de Coro is the largest of Falcón State's four National Parks covering 912Km2 on the Isthmus of Paraguaná with the sea on either side and the highway in between. The famous sand dunes shift over the road at the city's edge, whipped by constant trade winds. They are an amazing spectacle as you drive down the thin neck and are located just before you enter the city of Coro on the mainland. Just sand and dunes as far as the eye can see. |
