Our First Civilised BBQ!!

I have had an interesting month here this month and actually got to meet some real live people! I have now met Ezmat. He lives here and takes care of all those import/export things for Mark's site. He's a man in 'the know' and has all the right contacts and information. A US work team arrived here to rebuild Mark's rusty radar tower. It consisted of an engineer Byron, Jay the owner of the company, Jason his 20yo son and Tracy the biker. Ezmat thought it would be nice to invite us over to his house in the city for a bbq. After my last bbq invitation..I was a little wary, but I thought this time we'd be in the city and if we DID get hungry...we could always go to McDonalds! Ezmat has a fine house 'by Venezuelan standards' with AC and a pool room! We shot pool and drank and ate real bbq (he's in the know remember and can get the good beef!) He also brought out plates of garlic prawns! There were so many we couldn't even eat them all! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! He let us just take over his house and fill it with loud rock music...it was a terrific night and he was a fabulous host! Of course then we had to make the hour long drive home on that awful dark road..late at night..and with Mark having consumed more alcohol in one night than he has all year! It was a hairy trip and we tried to do it slow. I was never more pleased to see our little house than that night. This night was fun and worth that drive! |
