Luis' Birthday Party!

What a great day!! I was fortunate enough to listen to a live stream today off the net, of my fabulous OU Sooners thrashing Texas by a staggering 63-14!! It was a great night to celebrate and we were able to do that at Luis' birthday party! The new American radar technician Luis, has finally arrived in Venezuela. With his help, we will finally be able to take our much needed and long overdue vacation. Luis has rented a house across the street from us, has made friends quickly here, is a mad New York Jets fan and decided to have a party for his 41st birthday. It was a different party to the others we have been to so far. The crowd was younger and nothing was bleeding before we ate it! There was 'on the bar' dancing and drinking games. We, of course, brought our customary bottle of fruity vodka. It seemed to send this crowd into a frenzy and they wanted more. A quick trip to the liquoria in the next town and 4 more bottles were purchased and subsequently drunk! He also had a tradional piñata. Now the normal description of a piñata reads: "Paper mache container hung up during festivities and hit with a stick to release candy inside". Well..umm..I think ours was a moderm day piñata. It wasn't a donkey or cute little animal with candy like we've normally seen, but a naked paper lady, with enormous boobs, quite spread-eagled and wearing nothing but high-heeled shoes. They only allowed the men to bash this poor thing to death with a stick. Off came a leg, a left boob one of her eyes..it was pretty scary to watch the violence with which these men were attacking this poor paper woman...the stick was even broken in the process!! When she was finally beaten into submission, what seemed like 100 pairs of underpants came flying out of her. Big ones, small ones, men's ones, woman's ones, thongs..you name it..there was underwear for all! She was finally thrown to the ground and stomped on and the party continued. Unfortunately our camera batteries gave out and we only got one shot of the piñata..but that might have been a blessing in disguise! Thank you Luis for a fun evening..quite different from any other we've had here so far..and I doubt it will be the last!! By the way...did I mention that Oklahoma thrashed Texas 63-14?? |
